Over the last 7 years Flying Pony Alpacas has been very selective in the development of it's band of brothers. Bob Fish has done his homework and purchased some of the best blood lines this country offers. It started at the 2004 Breeders Choice Auction when Flying Pony purchased the incredible male MFI Peruvian Total Asset as a yearling. Total Asset is the blue ribbon son of Dracula and Tafata. Total Asset's large offspring have hit the ground and proved to us that he has earned his name.
At the 2005 Breeders Choice Auction, Flying Pony purchased the incredible MFI Accoyo Peruvian Titanic. Titanic is as perfect as an Accoyo can be. His sire the famous Dracula along with Caligula's Accoyo Tiberia created a perfect specimen of Accoyo that we enjoy on our Herdsire row creating wonderful cria to carry on the Full Accoyo line. So far Titanic has given us three full Accoyo girls.
That same year 2005 understanding the impact of Caligula’s El Nino line on the American herd, Flying Pony acquired Accoyo America Zenith at the Parade of Champions. We see the results of these magnificent full bodied, dense and fantastically crimpy sires breeding to several of our full Accoyo females.
Along the way we have also obtained our Vengador’s Robinson Crusoe. To see RC in our pasture is like looking at a carbon copy of his sire Vengador. Add to that our MFI Peruvian Accoyo Diablo, co-owned with Magical Farms, a Herdsire out of Plantel. My Peruvian Center Ice, a champion, out of the champion MFI Peruvian Barringer and Cream Puff.
Bob's original plan called to develop the black and gray alpaca line in the United States. The success of this breeding plan shows in our very own Casanova's Lightning Strike out of Snowmass Peruvian Casanova and our very own Patagonia's LaDanza. Just this last winter at the Snowmass Making Of Champions we purchased a fantastic true black son out of Snowmass Midnight Magic and Cienega Creek Christy, Snowmass Zambesi. Our gray and black line is capped off by our BOA Sycamore who holds an AOBA Nationals Blue Ribbon for gray. In the final days of 2006 we purchased MFI Superstar from the BelleauWood Auction. Superstar has superior lines such as Pluro, Mateo and Peruvian Leon. This guy should help to advance our grey and fawn line in a way that will please everyone. Especially the judges.
If you love brown as we do, you will love the Black Knight son we recently purchased. Blissful's Knight has already won several Championships, Reserves, and Blue Ribbons. Blissful Knight has won more ribbons and championships than his own sire Black Knight. In the fawn part of Herdsire Row, you will find Cassius in addition to MFI Superstar.
It is easy to drop all these names and figures but in the long run what does it all mean?
It means that we are prepared to make vast strides in the further development of the Full American line here in the United States. We firmly believe that the US market is geared to over come and replace any market in the world with the quality of the breeding programs here in the United States.
With just about every color of the rainbow we are sure to have something to catch your eye or support your breeding program. Please take some time to look around our site and enjoy the pictures. Check out our new cria and our alpacas for sale. We would love to have you call and set up a farm visit!
